On the basis of fundamental and actual coal sample experiments, the paper put forward that BET as a flotation reagent of coal had obvious advantages over GF and FS202. The doses of BET were only one tenth and one hundredth of those of GF and FS202 respectively when they were used for coal flotation. BET had a good selectivity and poor collection of coal-pyrite, with the float only one tenth to twentieth of those by GF and FS202 when pyrite was enriched. Sulphur in various particles was dissociated after ultrasonic treatment. The effects of depressants were enhanced by the intensification of ultrasonic and the index of desulfurization and deashing improved significantly (over 15%). The percentage and perfectness of desulfurization of pyrite were 85% and 68-97% respectively for the actual coal samples from Jiexiu. Depressants CaO and water glass combined had better effects on desulfurization and deashing than that where they used respectively. The percentage of desulfurization of pyrite reached 76. 68% when CaO and water glass were combined to treat the actual coal samples from Jiexiu.
