Eighty nine accessions collected from northeast India were studied for genetic divergence andrnpotentiality for yield and other economic traits. Numbers of accessions were identified as sources ofrntraits of breeder’s interest. Sources of resistance to fusarium wilt, botrytis gray rot, jassids andrnserpentine leaf miner were identified. Eighty six accessions were grouped into six clusters. Therndiverse clusters derived could be used in hybridization programme to generate wide range ofrntransgressive segregants in populations to develop high yielding castor varieties.
