Characteristics of Software Used in Poland

The aim of the paper is to present computer programmes used in Poland. The paper shows research on characteristic of this software. Software used in Poland can be divided generally for three groups. To the first group belong foreign original computer programmes. In second one there are computer programmes that are modification of foreign versions. To the third group belong original programmes created in Poland. The first group there is international and national - other then Polish - versions of programmes. Language of majority of these programmes is English or Polish. Characteristic of programs from the second group is similar to their original versions. Only influence of Polish language and compatibility requirement with other Polish programmes can change same programme parameters. In the third group we can see variety of conception and solutions. This group of computer programs is not free from influence world-wide standards and examples, but we can see also influence of Polish condition. Paper presents some elements of Polish specific in developing of the software. It shows factors that determine this market. There is no possibility of showing detailed characteristic of the whole software in this paper. Some problems are shown from different point of view then usually to provoke discussion.
