Results of tests on sixteen eccentrically loaded completely restrained angle columns varying in size from 75 x 75 x 9 mm to 125 x 90 x 10 mm are presented. The loads calculated as per the Canadian Standard CSA S37-94" Antennas, Towers, and Antenna-Supporting Structures" are less than the loads calculated as per the American Standard ANSI/ASCE 10-90 "Design of Latticed Steel Transmission Structures", and both loads are much less than the test failure loads. Even for completely restrained angle columns, it was found that the strength is greater with the minimum gauge distance of 35 mm than when the usual gauge distances given in the Handbook of Steel Construction are used. In the case of restrained unequal-leg angle columns, for the same gauge distance, the strength was found to be higher when the long leg is connected than when the long leg is outstanding.
