For pure hydrocarbons and complex mixtures, comparative phase equilibrium calculations with UNIQUAC g~E-model; Peng-Robinson EOS and the multifluid (MF) nonrandom lattice-fluid (NLF) EOS) were carried out. Since the MF-NLF EOS proposed recently by the present authors can be regarded as the UNIQUAC-type EOS, it is applicable to both pure fluids and mixtures as it is the case of the P-R EOS but the UNIQUAC can only be applicable to mixtures. The results demonstrated that the MF-NLF EOS could be versatilely applicable to mixtures as well as pure fluids. The advantages and shortcomings of the underlying models were critically evaluated.
