Deformation and Failure of Rocks within Limit and Beyond-limit Ranges

The experimental and theoretical researches undertaken confirmed the existence of the proper tensor basis, at one of its directions the proportional relationship is fulfilled between projections of stress tensor and deformations for the whole range of rock states. The equations of beyond-limit deformation were derived for the case of the plane deformation with account for the detected effect. It is shown that the system is of the hyperbolic type with four nonorthogonal characteristics.
