SEA AND ICE PRODUCTS FROM SENTINEL-1

The ESA Sentinels constitute the first series ofrnoperational satellites responding to the EarthrnObservation needs of the EU-ESA Global Monitoringrnfor Environment and Security (GMES) programme.rnThe GMES space component relies on existing andrnplanned space assets as well as on new complementaryrndevelopments by ESA. This paper describes thernSentinel-1 mission, an imaging synthetic aperture radarrn(SAR) satellite constellation at C-band. It provides anrnoverview of the mission requirements, its informationrnproducts and its technical concept.
