RESIDENTIAL SOUND INSULATION -THEORY AND PRACTICE

Residential Sound Insulation Programs are providing a great benefit to residents around airports.The methodology described in this paper has been used extensively for the acoustical design forremodeling homes impacted by aircraft noise. The results indicate that despite the extremenumber of variables affecting existing and future construction conditions, the existing and futurenoise reduction performance can be predicted with good accuracy. The single number indicesused in the method provide simplicity and cost effectiveness.
