The experimental procedure to determine the aerodynamic noise produced by a motor car sidemirror is discussed. The sound pressure levels were initially obtained in a motorway varying thevehicle speed from 60 km/h to 110 km/h, using a set of surface pressure microphones attached atthe window, close to the mirror. Another set of results was obtained without the effects producedby airflow around the mirror by means of a set of simulated track measurements collected in adynamometric insulated chamber, where the other road conditions were simulated. The obtainedand discussed set results proved to be compatible with a set of correlated results previouslyobtained in a wind tunnel by other authors.
