In this paper, the potential difficulties with the application ofnexact linearization technique to a class of continuous bioreactors arenexamined. We concentrate on input-output linearization since theninput-state linearization can be viewed as a special case ofninput-output linearization. Input-state linearization can have all thensame problems except unstable zero dynamics. Various control structuresnare compared. We emphasize on the analysis of zero dynamics, singularnpoints and disturbance decoupling property. We introduce the process andnthe control objective. We briefly review the exact input-outputnlinearization theory. We study single loop control structures with thendilution rate D, the single loop control with feed substratenconcentration, and the multivariable control
