A unique model of pulse-width-modulated (PWM) converters,noperating in the continuous conduction mode, is developed. This model isncompatible with general purpose electronic circuit programs such asnSPICE. It can be used to simulate DC, small signal and transientnbehavior of PWM converters. The simulation of switching regulators isnsimplified by using this equivalent circuit model to replace thennonlinear part of the PWM converters. An effective switching regulatornanalysis program, called SWAN, is developed and used to simulatensmall-signal characteristics of a switching regulator
