摘要

An experimental investigation of damage behavior in unidirectional composite material likernconcrete subjected to axial tension was conducted. In this paper the shape of the specimens wasrncarefully chosen to model the behavior of concrete under tension loading. The nucleation,rnprogression, and coalescence of internal damage in the concrete are the consequences of thernexistence and development of micro-cracks at many length scales. To demonstrate the damage inrnconcrete a near field microwave imaging technique was used in this research. The difference inrnthe behavior of concrete specimens was explained on the basis of the different loading rates.
