The equipment of modern weather radar with all kinds of technical improvements such as the probing pulse of compound shape, double polarization of the emitted electromagnetic wave, spectral analysis of the received reflections makes it possible, in addition to extracting additional information about the observed targets, to improve the conditions for receiving a useful signal. At the same time there is a question of whether their such use will worsen quality of the obtained estimates. In this regard, the influence of the introduction of the mode of the transperiod change of polarization of the emitted wave in order to extend the interval of unambiguous measurement of the average value of the Doppler frequency shift on the accuracy of determining the power and polarization parameters of the signal is considered. A possible algorithm for suppressing interference from local objects is also described, based on the combined use of the spectral and polarization parameters of the signal and applicable in the case of mixing the useful signal and interference.
