Bridging the Gap……Training Recently Qualified CPL Holders; how to deal with next Generation Helicopters

Starspeed Helicopters, who conduct Instrument rating training, had identified a training gap for recently qualified pilots orpilots recently leaving the armed forces with minimal experience of modern glass cockpits or automation. As a resultthey approached Dovetail Aviation to design a two day course to "Bridge the Gap". This presentation discusses thetraining needs of pilots trained on R22. R44 or Gazelle, Squirrel on order to prepare them for a type rating course on amodern multicrew transport helicopters such as flown offshore.
