摘要

The construction and visualization of fracture-block system models are of great significance for simulating large scale rock masses. This paper presents a reasonable and effective methodology which is different from other traditional block modeling approaches. The new methodology employs object oriented programming (OOP) technique to organize project data, including input parameters, research objects, graphic information and analytical results. Furthermore, the visualization of blocks is accomplished based on the theory of computer aided geometric design (CAGD). The complicated model created by the proposed procedure would be easily analyzed using the three-dimensional block-group method, which is based on the stereo-analytical block theory. In addition, a pre-processing program has been completed, and several modeling examples are presented in this paper to demonstrate the validity and high-performance of this method.
