DRAFT OF SPANISH REGULATIONS FOR THE USE OF RECYCLED AGGREGATE IN THE PRODUCTION OF STRUCTURAL CONCRETE

The Ministry of the Environment of Spain published a National Construction dan Demolition Waste Plan in 2001. The term for application of the Plan is five years and its goals are to attain a level of 25% recycling of CDW in 2006. In November 2002 the Standing Committee of Concrete created a task force commissioned to draft a document to complement current regulations governing structural concrete and to set out specific recommendation for the use of recycled aggregate for that application. The task force is also drafting a document to define the state of the art of recycled concrete. This paper sets out the contents of the draft regulations now being debated by the task force.
