SOLAR ENERGY IN EVAPORATION PROCESS

Evaporation process in chemical industry is used for increasing of solution concentration through solventrnevaporation. Heat energy for solvent, most often water, evaporation from solution is provided by dryrnsaturated steam produced in boiler fired by natural gas.rnIn this paper for certain evaporation process possibility of providing heat energy, either partly or totally, forrnsteam production by solar energy is investigated.rnCalculation is based on mean values of solar radiation for Dalmatian region of Croatia for whole year. Solarrncollector area is calculated for maximal available solar radiation energy i.e. for June. It is calculated that inrnJune fuel saving is maximal and can be up to 100%, in January fuel saving is lowest but still significantrn9,7%. In transition period it varies between these two values depending on month.
