摘要

The model we show in order to obtain a Forest Fire Risk Assessment combines two kinds of analysis involving NDVI and surface temeprature. The University of Valladolid Remote Sensing Laboratory (LATUV) is equipped with a NOAA iamge receiver, and the risk pattern is practically automated; in this way after receiving he satellite image on a daily basis and applying the above-mentioned algorithms, detailed maps are produced with ifnormation relating to local distribution over the whole country, with Forest Fire Risk levels. This information is very useful to the Fire Prevention Services of the Autonomous communities during the summer season, when the incidence of forest fires is high. This Risk Assessment is also determined for Portugal, Italy and the mediterranean areas of France.
