Blida Water Supply Network Vulnerability

摘要

Blida is located South West Algiers (Algeria). It is an area prone to seismicity (Zone 3) according the last Algerian Seismic Code (RPA99, version 2003). The city has known a big development within its urban, administrative, industrial and commercial sectors. So, the water network system is dense. This one is made of various diameters and materials. As several destructive earthquakes had already shaken the city in the past, particular attention should be made to protect this network from such hazard. The present study deals with the seismic vulnerability of the water system network. The characteristics of the buried pipelines are put on a Geographical Information System (GIS). This allows a vulnerability diagnosis of the water network system using both, the geologic and geomorphologic aspects of the land.
