Ozonation and Biological Activated Carbon Filtration In Dutch Drinking Water Treatment

Microbiological integrity is a major objective of drinking water treatment. In groun water treatment this integrity is achieved by soil passage. In conventional surface water treatment microbiological integrity of drinking water was ensured by multiple chlorination steps. Contamination with persistent protozoa i.e. Giardia and Cryptosporidium necessitated to increase the disinfectio ncapacity.
