DEVELOPING WOMEN E- ENTREPRENEURS: A MALACCA CASE STUDY

Women E-entrepreneurship project via was implemented to empower more women to become active entrepreneurs online and reap the benefits of what Internet and broadband could offer for their business. A total of 500 women entrepreneurs have been trained in 2010 and this paper will highlight the impact of the training for the women entrepreneurs trained in Malacca. The findings show that the women have benefitted from the program and training up to 30-50% increase in terms of their sales and knowledge and skills on e-entrepreneurship. Several issues are highlighted and overall the project should be continued and supported to assist more women at marginalized areas to be empowered and more online presence to increase sales and networking.
