The analysis described in this paper is focused on problems of bond quality and the combined concrete-bond failure of anchor loaded by tension force. Separated failure of concrete or glue is possible only for theoretically ideally smooth contact surface between these two materials. With respect to the materials characteristics and anchor installation procedure this situation is not possible. In real, both materials are mixed in the contact surface. The relative difference between the strength characteristics of materials is the main parameter influencing the final failure mode. The evaluation of experimental and numerical results confirmed previous hypothesis concerning the assumption of separated failure of one material (excluding steel failure) in anchor joint unsafely inaccurate, in many cases.
