Unique combinations of epoxy curing agents allow for the formulation of single component room temperature stable, deep curing encapsulants and potting compounds. Simply exposing the surface to ultra violet light (UV light) activates this unique chemistry. The UV light initiates the cure which acts as a trigger mechanism to produce a secondary, self-generating thermal polymerization. This allows for rapid, deep and complete polymerization to occur throughout the entire volume even in areas shaded from direct UV light exposure. Operations using this new system will reduce process time and take up a fraction of shop floor space of traditional potting and encapsulating systems for electronic components.
