摘要

Slicing procedure is one of the key technologies in layeed manufacturing(LM). Effective slicing procedures can improve the accuracy of the sliced model, reduce manufacturing time and get high quality of layer manufactured parts. In this paper, a new adaptive slicing method for layered manufacturing is discussed in detail. The staircase effect and the containment problem can introduce geometric inaccuracy. In this paper, these two problems are treated differently to others. Using the new adaptive slicing algorithm through the comparing of volume can minimize the staircase effect. In order to solve the containment problem, an algorithm based on slicing section area of the part model is presented.
