landslide is one of most serious geological hazards in the Three Gorges reservoir regions. Since the reservoir was in operation in 2003, both the intenerating of water and the descending of reservoir water table have become main factors that effects on the stability of landslide. One-dimensional Boussinesq equation is applied to the analysis of the seepage characteristic of Hongshibao Landslide III, from which is obtained free surface of seepage for different descending velocity in different times. The result of the analysis of stability shows that the curve of the relationship between the landslide stability and the reservoir water table is a parabola. The stability of the landslide of Hongshibao III influenced by rainstorm descends about 10%.And critical declining velocity of Hongshibao Landslide III is 0.8 m/d in case of no seism.
