In this paper, based on vehicle-track coupling dynamics and dynamic finite element, a dynamic model is developed to investigate the vertical interaction between maglev train and guideway; the dynamic responses are calculated by means of a computer program. The influence of guideway irregularity excitation on running safety and stability of maglev train is discussed, according to which, suggestions are given to the irregularity managements for safe operation. The present work lays down the foundation for further study of the coupling dynamic properties of maglev system and improvement of design methodology and maintenance for maglev guide ways.
