The main goal of our research is to develop new propagation models for disaster situations (earthquakes, terrorism, war), for accurate localization of radio signal sources buried under the collapsed buildings. In a previous paper [1], we proposed a propagation model for non-line of sight (NLOS) scenarios, based on log-distance law, but it comes out that a better model for propagation in disaster scenarios is needed, to estimate with better accuracy the distance to the transmission source. In this paper, we propose an improved propagation model, which will better fit the experimental results.
