摘要

Acoustic emission (AE) technique was applied for evaluating the damage inside the knee joint. The incidence of knee osteoarthritis (OA), a widely manifested knee disease, increases due to damages in the cartilage of knee joint. In the present investigation challenges have been focused on dynamic characterization of knee damage with acoustic emission parametric analysis. AE signals were collected from different positions of knee joint by AE sensors for sufficient information about the condition of cartilage inside the knee. However, data were contaminated frequently with unwanted noise like crepitus noise etc. Therefore, an adaptive filter was applied to improve the corrupted AE data for accurate and unbiased evaluation of knee integrity.
