DEVELOPMENT AND APPLICATION OF TAPHOLE MUD FOR 5800 M~3 LARGE SCALE BLAST FURNACE

摘要

Large scale blast furnace possesses high production quantity of molten iron, high blast quantity and pressure, specific taphole mud is needed for tapping operation in large scale blast furnace. Taphole mud for 5800 m~3 large scale blast furnace of Sha Gang Steel was investigated in this study. Two formulas were made using brown fused alumina (BFA) and calcined bauxite (CBX) as basic aggregate. A series of physical and chemical properties were compared, and these two formulas both showing good performance on field-testing results, the average tapping time were 160-165 min.
