The use of this technique exploits the advantages inherent to Modulated Differential Scanning Calorimetry (MDSC) to overcome the disadvantages inherent in traditional Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). Modulated Differential Scanning Calorimetry allows for the separatin of the reversible and irreversible components of the total heat flow. The experimenter will be able to use this separation of components to more clearly identify distinct thermal events occurring in similar temperature ranges. This additional information lends itself well to the accurate characterization of the dicyanate ester DCE film.
