Judging the performance of a DSC is a somewhat subjective process. There are no standards available to define the important performance parameters such as response time, resolution, and sensitivity so comparisons of the different instrument specifications are difficult to make. A recent study by the Dutch Thermal Analysis Society (TAWN) attempted to quantify resolution and sensitivity through a series of DSC experiments.
