Solid carbon is used in different forms, and purity, in many vital industrial processes : metallurgy, electrometallurgy, polymer and rubber, composites and compounds formulations, etc.. its total world annual output is in the range of hundred millions tons (for example about two tons of coke or graphite for one ton of produced steel or aluminum).
