摘要

The different requirements for coupling of mass spectrometry and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy with thermogravimetry are reviewed. The influence of the specific features of the two gas analyzer systems for the activation of gas molecules and the working pressure on the results achieved, is compared. In mass spectrometry, high sensitivity for all gases has to be confronted with the fragmentation and interpretation problem. In infrared spectroscopy, comprehensive information on functional groups has to be confronted with the missing information on symmetrical molecules.
