Thermal analysis of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropene copolymers

Copolymers of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropene P(VDF/HFP) behave quite differently in their reorganization response from that of the poly(vinylidene fluoride) homopolymer. Their response does not show the molecular weight dependence noted for the homopolymer for similar thermal histories. However, an ordering effect can be noted in low temperature melting peaks resulting from a differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) fractionation. This ordering effect was studied by using multiple heating rates and temperature-modulated DSC (TMDSC).
