C-LVDT Toolset Station for uses in Diamond Machining

摘要

The purpose of this project was to develop a device to measure the relative tool position of multiple diamond machining tools for the manufacturing of multiscale optics. Multiscale optics are biomimmetically inspired. For example Moth's eyes, seen in Figure 1, with an overall aspheric shape on the order of 1 mm in diameter has small lenslets on the order of 10 micrometers in diameter and on those lenslets are subscale curved antireflective features less than one micrometer in size.
