Current techniques allow for the production of TGIC/polyester based powder coatings with gloss levels from 10 to 90+ circle a 60 deg. However, coatings with gloss levels below 40 circle a 60 deg require a dry blend technique, which can lead to lack of reproducibility of gloss levels. A novel curing agent has been produced which allows TGIC/polyester based coatings with gloss levels below 40 circle a 60 deg to be produced by a "one shot" process. It is possible to formulate powder coatings with gloss levels in the range 10-40+ circle a 60 deg. The coatings have reproducible gloss levels and good durability. Gloss may be varied by variation of the formulation parameters e.g. TGIC/polyester ratio.
