The present paper investigates the effect of the wind shear associatedrnwith the varying atmospheric stability conditions on the fatigue loadsrnon an offshore wind turbine. The offshore wind turbine studied has arnhub height of 90 m and a jacket support structure, and is used in therncode comparison in the OC4 project. It is modelled and analyzed inrntime-domain using the multi-body program FEDEM Windpower. Therndynamic response of the wind turbine to the wind profiles measuredrnoffshore at FINO 3 is studied, in terms of the moments at the root of thernblade and the moments at the base of the tower. The effect of turbulencernassociated with the different wind profiles is included.
