Grouted joints in Monopile substructures are exposed to high cyclicrnloading conditions. During maintenance work, vertical settlements inrngrouted joints with plain steel surfaces have been detected. It becamernapparent that applied design methods did not represent properly thernphysical behavior of the connections. Based on theoretical andrnexperimental investigations, this paper presents discovered reasons andrndiscusses the design driving parameters.
