Ocean turbulence microstructure is one of the most important factors inrnelucidating the mixing process in the ocean which has a great influencernon marine environment and global climate change. TurboMAP is arnfree-fall vertical profiler for acquiring turbulent shear and otherrnmicroscale ocean environmental data, such as conductivity, temperature,rndepth, turbidity, and chlorophyll-a. In recent years, the quasi-horizontalrnmeasurement of turbulence microstructure is much desired in order tornunderstand the physical processes of the ocean in more detail. Thisrnpaper deals with the development of the glider-type Turbulence OceanrnMicrostructures Acquisition Profiler, TurboMAP-G, and its glidingrnperformance obtained from water-channel tank tests.
