The aim of this work is the study of the pathology observed in the Baldornon’srnchurch and a proposal for restoration procedure based on the finite elementrncalculation. The pathology is due to a lack of stiffness of the church’s soil, givingrnrise to several important damages: cracks in the walls, cracks on the floor, loss ofrntightness (watertight integrity) and finally, the collapse of the structure can takernplace. In order to tackle this subject, it is proposed a practical solution for this actualrnproblem based on the non-linear coupled analysis of the soil and the concreternreinforced structure by FEM. The solution is to strengthen the previous existingrnrock-filling wall by means of a gunited concrete and counterforts with concreternanchorages inside the soil, crossing laterally the church by both sides. Finally,rnconclusions of this study are exposed.
