摘要

This is a report of a fundamental study on the design method thatrntakes into account the interaction between the air chamber and thernturbine, using the rule of similarity in the non-dimensional form of therngoverning equations. It is presented how to analyze the power absorbedrnin irregular waves by use of both their spectrum and probability. It isrnshown that the linear theory of water wave is applicable to thernevaluation of the absorbed power in air chambers. Turbinernperformances in irregular waves are easily shown with the probabilityrndensity distribution, that is, Gauss distribution. This paper also presentsrna design method that will lead to minimum construction cost. Cost isrnnow a very important factor in the construction of wave powerrngenerating systems.
