THE DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY'S SPENT FUEL DATABASE

The Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory (INEEL) is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Department of Energy's (DOE) Spent Fuel Database (SFD-96). The SFD-96 database is an updated version of the older DOE Integrated Spent Nuclear Fuel Database System (ISNFDS). Both databases were developed for the DOE at the TNEEL to aid in the management of DOE's national and international inventory of spent nuclear fuels (SNF). The database can provide quick and effortless summaries of specific fuel type inventories which are currently used for transport, handling, and storage assessments.
