The requirement for a reliable Parachute Automatic Activation Device has been evident from the early Parachuting accidents especially with the advent of heavily equipped jumpers and the tactical use of free fall to achieve covert isertion. Many devices have been suggested starting with mechanical systems and more recently the introduction of digital and analogue electronics has promised great advances. The implementation of these has many considerations that must be handled with respect for the technology within the environment. The transfer from one technology to another brings a differnet rash of problems rther than eliminating all problems.
