摘要

We study the shoaling;;breaking;;and post-breaking ofrnwaves;;in two dimensions;;using a model;;i.e.;;a Numerical WavernTank;;based on coupling a Boundary Element Model;;solvingrnpotential flow equations;;to a Volume Of Fluid model;;solvingrnNavier-Stokes equations. We apply the model to calculating therntransformation of solitary waves over plane slopes. We comparernresults to existing laboratory experiments. The agreement isrnquite good between computations and measurements. Finally;;werncompute properties of waves breaking over various slopes;;suchrnas shape;;internal velocities and type of breaking.
