By using macroscopic and microscopic displacement flow techniques, the mechanisms of high viscosity system gel-polymer flowing in porous media and the oil displacement has been studied. The results show that gel-polymer can be driven to flow in the porous media and to be used as displacing agent to increase oil recovery. In lab study, gelpolymer can increase oil recovery more than 30
