In this report, we discussed the availability issue inprovisioning SFC in the NFV/SDN environment. We arguethat when deploying VNFs in SFC, availability must beconsidered to avoid unbalanced resource utilization andsingle point failure. We briefly introduced the layered graphsystem model. By leveraging the concept of node degree ingraph theory, we proposed a node degree based VNFdeploying scheme to enhance the availability of SFC andconducted a numerical simulation to evaluate our scheme.
