With the development of the intelligent substationrntechnology, the centralized protection attracts more andrnmore attention of Chinese scholars. Due to thernimplementation of IEC61850, the development of thernhigh-speed Ethernet, and the advanced performance ofrncomputer hardware, the centralized protection becomes arnpossible choice. Centralized protection simplifies therntraction substation secondary wiring, and realizes realrntime data sharing. It avoids the repeated configuration ofrnhardware, and reduces the space required for therninstallation of protection devices. Under the considerationrnof these advantages, the centralized protection will be thernmain trend for micro-computer protections for tractionrnsubstations. Compared with and traditional protection,rnthis paper discusses the schemes for the centralizedrnprotection for the hybrid dual redundant star network isrndiscussed, and illustrates the design and reliability forrnthese schemes.
