ENVISAT VALIDATION CAMPAIGN AT IMAA – CNR

In the period July 2002 - March 2004, at IMAA-CNR,rnTito Scalo (Potenza, 40°36’N, 15°44’E, 820 m abovernsea level) we have performed more than 500 hours ofrnRaman lidar measurements and 50 radiosonde launchesrnin coincidence with ENVISAT overpasses. Thisrncampaign has been carried out by using a Raman lidarrnsystem, able to perform measurements of water vaporrnmixing ratio vertical profiles with high vertical andrntemporal resolution, and a radiosounding station forrnPTU measurements. These data have been used tornvalidate MIPAS water vapor and temperature productsrnand GOMOS water vapor products. In this paper, wernpresent the results of the validation campaign performedrnat IMAA, only for MIPAS and GOMOS data processedrnwith MIPAS software version 4.61 and with GOMOSrnIPF 5.00 respectively.
