Comparison Tests on Growth of Seven Landscape Plants of Magnoliaceae

Comparison tests of seven landscape species of Magnoliaceae under same site conditions were carried out. These species were Manglietia insignis, Manglietia chingii, Michelia chapensis, Michelia fulgens, Michelia martini, Michelia maudiae, and Michelia longipetiolata. Results indicated that the survival rates of transplanting ranged from 72.6% to 97.0%, with average height of 7-year-old plants ranging from 3.95 m to 6.04 m, average DBH (diameter breast height) from 4.63 cm to 7.83 cm, and average canopy diameters from 2.15 m to 3.62 m.
