Energy Savings via Fast Drying in Textile Industry Part Ⅰ: Theoretical Discussion and Technical Strategies

摘要

The total energy consumption of fabric drying for producing 70 billion kg per year of textiles in the global textile industry is about 313 billion kWh or 39 million metric tons of coal. Even with 10% energy savings from the fabric drying at the textile industry will create direct savings of 31 billion kWh,or 4 million metric tons of coal or US$ 520 million per year. Intention in this paper is utilizing chemistry approaches based on interactions between textile fibers/fabrics and processing liquid,i.e. water to improve fabric drying effectiveness,leading to energy savings. Scientific bases and technical strategies are discussed for energy savings via fast drying in textile industry.
